Despite the continued lack of swallows, Dave Tetlow & I had an enjoyable day at Hamlin Beach with a number of highlights. There was a good movement of RED-THROATED LOONS for most of the morning - our final tally was 1,012 for the day, with about 60% of these were during the first couple of hours

Kevin McGann and I went to Middletown to see if the Pink-footed Goose was still around. We checked all of the spots Curt mentioned plus the ponds across from the Psychiatric Center on Route 17M with no success. Most of the geese we did find were on the pond visible from the foot trail off 6 &
