The highlight--however frustratingly brief--of a nearly 4-hour visit today at
Lakeland County Park (Islandia) and adjoining Suffolk greenbelt, was the
presence of at least one COMMON RAVEN.
I actually had two encounters. The first was with one bird briefly glimpsed
through gaps in the trees,
According to a CayugaRBA message a minute ago, the Audubon's Yellow-rumped
Warbler Livia and I found this morning is still being seen around the swan
pen/boathouse area at Stewart Park in Ithaca. I took a few photos this
morning, which begin here:
Erik Miller just called in to report a HOODED WARBLER @ Oakland Lake Queens

Yesterday, at Massapequa , Long Island, about 5 PM, next to where the
brook flows at the south end of the pond, at the Pittsburgh Ave. entrance to
the park, I found a flock of warblers. Most interesting was a Yellow
-throated Warbler, which stayed in close view for over 15 minutes, as

they are beautiful

I just received a phone call from Sam Janazzo who reports a YELLOW-THROATED
WARBLER at Hempstead Lake *(the 2nd one this year for that location?)*.
The bird, is currently being observed just south of parking lot 3. Many
thanks to Sam for the prompt report.
