Thanks to Jim Berry for the heads up on the male WESTERN TANAGER. Irving is
in the northwestern corner of Chautauqua County. I talked to the homeowner
who said that the bird seems to come in to the feeder regularly - every hour
or two. There is just a single seed feeder on a pole with suet

Eventhough it was a cold day today, there were some good birds seen near
the Audubon Center.
The highlights of my trip were:
Blue headed Vireo-1
North Parula- 1-singing on the opposite side of the road where the feeders
were placed during the winter
Fellow Birders;
Early this afternoon, Eric Miller and I enjoyed the continuing Hooded
Warbler at Oakland Lake, Queens County. It was last seen at about 1:00, having
moved to the north side of the Springfield Blvd entrance, in a very moist and
densely vegetated ravine. It seemed to favor
