There was a *Virginia Rail* in the Loch in Central Parks North End this
evening. At about 5:15pm, It emerged from the dense stand of Jewel Weed
behind the fenced in area on the north side of the creek. This area is
bracketed by two dirt paths that lead to the edge of the water. Below is a

St. Lawrence Counties:
9/9/13 Massawepie Mire (southeastern St. Lawrence Co.)
David Buckley and I had a lovely hike at Massawepie Mire yesterday - calm
winds, perfect temperatures, mostly clear skies. I was

afternoon (a work e-mail so much less interesting) I unknowingly must have hit

I spent most of the day scoping Gravesend Bay from 3 different vantage points.
Highlights included:
1 Tropicbird sp.
1 Cory's Shearwater
2 Wilson's Storm Petrel
3 Leach's Storm Petrel
1 Red Phalarope
6 Parasitic Jaeger
2 Royal Tern
