This morning I went to Dune Rd. Via Westhampton Beach. In the Village of
Westhampton Beach near Aspatuck Creek (on Aspatuck Rd) I noticed several
crows, however one individual had white bars on its wings when it flew. I
got some (not so great) photos showing this off, which can be seen on my

In case Slaty-backed Gull reports are submitted to eBird.org from the
latest reported location I've created the following hotspot that should be
available on the system within 12 hours:
Shawangunk Correctional Facility, Wallkill
Coordinates: 41° 37.962', -74° 9.271'

We have a report to eBird of a SLATY-BACKED GULL with convincing
photographs from Wallkill, Ulster County, NY. The bird has been seen right
on state prison property so the ability to stop and get decent looks, or
especially photos, is limited.

On New Year's Day in the late afternoon 5 King Eiders were at Shinnecock
Inlet, near the tip of the eastern jetty, associating with Surf and Black
Scoters. The group consisted of 3 females and 2 immature males. Photos

Hi all,
I was just looking at an adult Iceland Gull roosting on the north side of the
water at Southards Pond, Babylon. The flock then flew and I lost it but it
still could be there.
