of Turkey Vulture, Kestrel and Great-horned Owl !

Saw,heard, and took pictures of field sparrow, chipping sparrow, meadow
larks today. Also kestrels, a barn swallow and tree swallows. No Blue Birds.

Following up on Shaibal and Tom's reports, I as well as a number of other
birders worked Hempstead Lake State Park and West End II at Jones Beach.
Highlight of the day was a female type Summer Tanager at West End II in the
northwest corner of the parking lot. It was observed for a few minutes

At around 1:30pm, after having met a birder who said he had seen the
Yellow-throated Warbler earlier, Brian Padden and my self connected with
the Yellow-throated Warbler in the area immediately south of Tavern on the
Green. I wish I knew the name of the birder who told us, so I could give

length of bill (seen, once the bird was in hand of crew-member and closer)
enabled him to reassess ID. Way to go Willie !

Willie Becker just called re: above. The alcid was sitting in a water
puddle, on the east bound lane, e/o the water tower. Unfortunately*, a park
crew just arrived, and is in the process of rescuing the bird for
processing.

there were at least 8 other adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls grounded in
Brooklyn and Queens yesterday:

awesome male.
I have made them a couple and hope the pair will nest on the forest

to step outside this morning in Bay Shore to a warm, still, foggy morning, with
