I went to Floyd Bennett Field today for the Cassin’s Kingbird, which was easily
findable, and then to Jones Beach West End 2 for the Common Ground Dove. I
could not locate the Ground Dove and the birders in the area that I asked did
not see it, either. The last I heard it was at the

Ground Dove tomorrow at Jones Beach SP - West End tomorrow. I was looking
to head out in the morning possibly.
Can anyone suggest where to look?

As of 10am today the Cassin's Kingbird at the picknick grounds/community garden
is still there giving great looks and photo ops.

In a true Patagonia Picnic Table Effect, Pat "eagle eyed" Lindsay found a
Henslow's Sparrow near the south west corner at the Riis Park Golf course.
This is near a strip of vegetation that runs south towards the beach.
Several of us saw the bird as it moved but not the killer looks that

It has been 35 years, 4 months, and (?)* days, while visiting my
brother-in-law in Flagstaff, Arizona, since seeing my first, and until
today, only Cassin's Kingbird ! Having missed the fast-moving, first of
specie for NYS (10/13/07,Camp Hero, Montauk Point, Andy Baldelli), coupled
with my missing
Bronx Brendan and I left our usual haunts at Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx
yesterday morning and traveled north to Croton Point Park.
Highlights were several Bald Eagles, both perched and overhead, a Long-eared
Owl, Eastern Meadowlarks and two male Northern Harriers working the former
landfill.
i received a 7:21 am twitter tweet from Mike Yuan that the Cassins is
back at yesterdays spot community garden in Floyd Bennett field.nearest
gate is the flatbush ave gate then next left then behind the guard
rail next left is the garden
