I saw photos this evening of an adult male Painted Bunting that had been coming to a feeder in Rotterdam, Schenectady County for several days after the snow storm last week, but has not been seen the last couple of days. Still working on getting some more details and if the bird has been seen

There was a report of a fairly well described possible female-type Yellow-headed Blackbird from a couple of days ago along Gravesend Bay in Brooklyn. It was hanging out in the large mixed Cowbird/Starling aggregation that is often seen along the Belt Parkway adjacent to Gravesend Bay during the

12/2/14, TuesdayPat Pollock @ 1:00 pm, in the snow/rain saw a small goose among Canada geese.  Can't find a match so far.  Closest was an immature Brant:  goose in question has dark head, no white chinstrap, dark neck and chest.  Below it is white on belly, marked with vertical streaks on flank

Not a rarity by any means but certainly worthy of reporting. Inspired by Tom Fiore's recent post that encouraged "patch birding." Eric Miller, just called in to report that he has found another male Wilson's Warbler (WIWA). This one, was found near the ball field where a female Painted Bunting
