A northern Shrike was present this afternoon on Alt Blvd at Love Rd (across
from the airfield) on Grand Island this afternoon.
The Ross's Goose (seen and reported by many) was also still at the swimming
beach at Beaver Island SP. The bird was on the water about 5 yards from shore

Sue and I spent a few hours birding at Massapequa Preserve (MP) this morning.
We came up with a decent list of half-hardies and early winter malingerers.
Waterfowl numbers on the Pittsburg Ave. Pond was low, but did include a female
Wood Duck. We recorded both kinglets around the pond as well
Present now at W11th & W4th Streets in Manhattan! Yippee!

No sighting of the Couch's Kingbird today with multiple birders scouring the
area, many present since first light.
Cassin's Kingbird was still present at Floyd Bennett Field at the community
gardens making its first appearance at 0930 once the sky cleared mostly staying
near the gazebo and
The kingbird was not seen from 11am- 1pm when I left. We looked on Jane St and
Abington Square. Many birders are scouting the area trying to find it.

I just got to Abington sq took subway from midtown give it a shot. No luck in 5
minutes. Two young birders rigged out in Swarovski and big camera got in from
CT early this am spending most time around Jane + Washington - NO kingbird for
them all day. On way to Washington and Jane passed 3 more

considerable regional interest in this exciting visitor, I think it would
be nice gesture if folks visiting the spot today and onwards could post
regular updates, even if negative. At a minimum a broadcast after the first

this morning. It looked like it may have landed along the north side of the
