I ended up spending most of the day birding Coastal Queens again--though not by design. Today's coastal birding, was brought on by an effort to aid an injured Harbor Seal that was observed yesterday on the beach at Jacob Riis Park. In the end with a little encouragement the Seal made its way back

Yesterday I led a daylong trip for NYC Audubon to Floyd Bennett Field, Fort Tilden, and nearby locales. The Rough-legs at FBF put on a great show.  Just like Steve Walter, we only saw 2 at any given time, but identified them as 3 individuals by plumage.  They were hovering, perching on the
