I don't think the Sora has the body mass to make it through the winter.

Alerted by Ken Feustel to his productive seawatch at Robert Moses SP, Suffolk,
LI this morning, Pat and I headed down to the beach. We found Ken still there,
along with John Gluth and Keith and Mickey Cashman, and lots of seabird
activity.
Laughing Gulls and Forster's and Common Terns were
From 4-5:30 PM I walked from the turnaround to the police station in an
unsuccessful attempt to find the Vesper Sparrow and 2 Red-headed Woodpeckers
that were seen yesterday. Upon leaving, I drove through the western entrance to
the WE2 lot and on the right side just past the beginning of the
There is a Western Kingbird at Dead Horse Bay in Brooklyn. Spotted by Heydi
Lopes, it was well seen by several birders and appeared to be sticking around.
Take the right trail to the end. It has been hawking from several bare trees on
the north side of the trail.

Adult Bald Eagle perched in the trees right on Peninsula Blvd at Hempstead Lake
SP. Briefly glimpsed another large raptor flying through the trees: either
young eagle or late Osprey.
