I just had a small burst of activity over my house. At least 8 Swainson’s Thrush as well as 2 Gray-cheeked Thrush and 2 Common Nighthawks. While I have had the thrushes call in the middle of the night, I don’t recall ever hearing nighthawks at this hour. Joe Fell Buffalo, NY Jfell2000 at gmail

Technically I’m in New Jersey, but I just photographed a Mississippi kite at the stateline lookout, between exits 2 and 3 on the palisades parkway north, about 10 miles north of the George Washington bridge. It headed south from here. May have been a young bird molting into adult because it
