6 pairs of GreenWinged Teals at outflow south of pond at Barnes Rd and Montauk
hwy, Moriches. Low tide. 7 Wilsons Snipe also foraging in background. Close
views from curb side. Watching them now at 11:45am.

Upon revisiting the Quogue wildlife refuge it occurred to me that I had made a
mistake regarding the Orange-crowned Warbler. I apologize for this. The Warbler
feeding at the suet yesterday was a Pine Warbler. There were both a male and
female feeding there today.

Today I observed an adult Red Shouldered Hawk in Calverton near the
EPCAL/Grumman grasslands. It was hunting a disturbed opening of oak/pitch pine
forest near NYS DEC preserved land. I also saw the same individual this past
