This morning before heading to HLSP, I did a quick walk through of Valley
Stream. A single Raven flew over carrying sticks in its beak. It was being
harassed by two crows. With all the Raven sightings going on in this area, I
wonder if this is indicative of a pair trying to nest.

Went to look for the raven nest on the bank building crevice on Main in New
Rochelle today that John reported the other day. Found the nest but no birds.
It's in an unusual place for a ravens nest but it sure appears to be one albeit
a small cramped one. Will check this week on a nicer day
As I was driving down Main St in the City of New Rochelle yesterday, a
Raven swooped down onto the street briefly, from a retail building that
fronts the street. As I passed the building, I saw that the Raven flew off
of a large sticknest in the upper left corner of the building's massive

Had a Common Raven in the parking lot of of the new Hmart across from the TD
bank in Hartsdale on Central Ave. It got chased off by the ubiquitous Fish
Crows and flew north with them in hot pursuit. It was most likely one of the
pair from White Plains. It's amazing how tiny the crows are

Is there anywhere still worth reporting Common Raven from? Maybe the outer
beach is the final frontier. There was one at Jones Beach this morning. Seen
from the nature center parking lot (West End 1), it landed in the one obvious
dead tree to the east. After displacing an Osprey in the tree,
Marc and Sharon Brody observed a Raven in their yard in Plainview, Nassau
Co., Long Island yesterday afternoon. Marc sent photos; the bird had some
large unidentifiable food item in its bill and was being harassed by crows.

This talk of Ravens is very interesting - After the last snowstorm I
went out to shovel snow (here in Bayville) and heard a very unusual
crow (diff from any other crow I've heard 'round here). I did think
to myself - that it was really odd & sort of raven-y.
I wasn't able to really persue it
