On the NYSOA field trip to Fair Haven State Park a Yellow-throated Warbler
was found and seen well by all the members of the trip in the trees at the
community center, it eventually moved across the road around the private
houses and was seen there by a second field trip group.

I spent about 45 minutes with the Prothonotary Warbler at the library
this morning. This bird is feisty, and seems to be thriving. From
watching it and piecing together the info people have discovered, it has

I led a trip for the Brooklyn Bird Club today to several coastal areas
in Brooklyn. We started the morning at Dreier-Offerman Park (Calvert
Vaux) and also birded Plum Beach, Dead Horse Bay and Floyd Bennett
Field. A strong NW wind early in the day kept a lot of birds down, but

Mergansers- a pair diving on the upper section of Sunken Meadow

small pond across the road from the north parking area, as previously described
by Alan Wells.
It was in the company of a single American Wigeon and about 30 Gadwall.
