Saw a Hermit Thrush on Warren St. in Cobble Hill this afternoon, fluttering
like a House Sparrow pretending to be a hummingbird at some berries. It landed
on a stoop to show off its cinnamon tail.
Near simultaneous reports of Common Raven in Prospect Park (from me) and
Green-Wood (from Bobbi
Sunday, went to feed the birds and there in the cedar on a barren
branch perched was the Black-and-white Warbler. I gasped. She flew off
deeper into the woods. Ran for the camera, waited and searched for at
least an hour. No luck.
Still looking as of today. It's like Ripley's believe
The ross's goose was seen on Merritt's Pond in Riverhead this morning
shortly before 8 AM. It soon departed with a number of canada geese to
the southeast.
One bluebird present at Line Road and Grumman Blvd.
Trumpeter swan not present in Yaphank.
Iceland gull not present at Iron Pier in
Ross goose reported ystrday, seen today @ 7:15 from Peninsula Path, Riverhead,
NY . On merrit pond.
Be mindful of narrow rd & prvt property
Note: birds left roost pond ystrday during day - did not return til 5pm
