A quick report on the *Ruff* as I just left the East Pond. The bird was
last seen by a few of us at the North End before it flew south around 9:25
a.m.
I continued birding the pond heading south and spotted the Ruff on the West
side in an area just before the new blind. On my return trip, I

sand flats by the bay are fenced off, which appears to be making the Least
Terns and Piping Plovers very happy, but which makes scanning for terns and
shorebirds a mostly scoping experience.

Quick FYI. Unless you came up from the South End or were already past the
North East corner, I would advise against entering the pond from the North
East entrance. Doing otherwise will flush all the birds at that corner
including the Ruff.
You can scope the bird from the north west side as some
