Did a real quick stop by the Pittsburgh Ave. entrance of Massapequa Park
and something immediately caught my eye when walking in. It was flying
erratically and as it got closer I was able to ID it as a bat! This was
about 2:00pm so I was surprised (worried) to see it flying around during

[The April BOS meeting will be held on Wednesday,
April 8,
As of about 12:30PM or so, the bird has not been seen. A search by many
birders failed to come up with the bird at its previous described locations as
well as other suitable habitat within the park. A.J. Henrickson Park (to
the south) was also searched. The last known appearance today was at
Drake Eurasian Wigeon currently in Playland Lake associating with some
American Wigeon on the right side of the center island.

There is a Common Teal (Eurasian) @ Brookville Park Queens Co. Same area as
the one I reported on February 18th.
I wonder if this is the same bird because amongst the American Green-winged
Teal is one that show traits of an intergrade, Common X American. The same
conundrum I was faced with one
The yellow throated warbler is being seen

Hoping for another glimpse of the snowy owl that was still present near Lazy
Point last weekend, I found a FOS Eastern Willet instead. Time to move on from
wintering birds apparently! Other weekend highlights were at least four very
active male woodcocks at Poxabogue park last Sunday evening,
