OBS: Robert DeCandido, PhD, Deborah Allen, m.ob.
Highlights: A nice variety of birds today with 16 species of Wood Warblers
including 4 Hooded Warblers (2 male, 2 female), migrating Osprey, Broad-winged,
Sharp-shinned, and Cooper's Hawks. A

Highlights: A nice variety of birds today with 16 species of Wood Warblers

The Brown Booby was viewed by my wife and myself at nearly last light this
afternoon. It was located in the oyster hatchery as previously posted by Angus
Wilson among some roosting cormorants. These are located just off the marina
on Star Island.

In addition to the two yachts mentioned in previous posts, the adult BROWN
BOOBY, is also using the raised steel framework of a pontoon at the oyster
hatchery near the north end of 'Lake Montauk' (in truth is an enclosed
saltwater bay). The booby is currently tucked in with several cormorants,

chart list of species with the current one picking up any additions or

The White Pelican is here - mostly sleeping, but took its head out briefly.

Well I was right to post about the white pelican in DeKorte Park last
weekend:-) I guess I'm giving off good karma since one should up in NY a week
later:-) And the clay-colored too:-)

Back on the blue boat at South Lake Drive. This perch is much closer to shore
than the North one, MUCH better views. All the borders currently seem to be at
the other end of the lake.
