current information on the East Pond water level, I figured it was time to
go to JBWR - so long as I had a backup plan (like learning to identify

About an hour ago (11:45 a.m.), as I was about to turn onto Sound Avenue from
Hallock State Park, a Mississippi Kite flew south with purpose across Sound
Avenue at about fifty feet in height. I turned right onto Sound Avenue, and
then left onto Herricks Lane, and caught up with the bird again

Apparently on a sail of the sloop Clearwater out of Cold Spring (Putnam county)
a BROWN BOOBY landed on the boat. Occurred yesterday (8/3). Unknown to me
exactly where boat was or time of day. For those who have the Instagram photos
posted on Clearwater cite which were sent to me.

At least two Marbled Godwits were seen from the bayside shore this AM, around
9:30. Also, Red Knots, and Royal Terns on the distant mud flats. High tide is
around noon today, and low tide around 6:30PM.

still present this morning, albeit on a more distant sandbar farther north
inside Old Inlet. Currently in the same scope view with a Caspian Tern. Also
