There are many gravel roads in the greater Pine Island area. Many of them are
clearly public. Which ones are privately owned? What exactly are the
boundaries of these private areas? If there no obvious signs, how is anyone to
know?

Thanks. I wasn’t planning to try. It’s a big area around Pine Island,
though, with lots of fields to bird, and I was just asking where else it
*is* acceptable to go. I don’t want to create friction for local birders,
and I am sure others feel the same. Pointers like Felipe’s about what is

Hi Joshua,
You can try Skinner lane (sod farms) for migrating shorebirds in September.
The area that has been closed to birders in the one between R12 and the bridge
that cross the river. There are other “private roads” in the area of Pine
Island and Florida where birding is “tolerated” but

Is there anyplace to find out where in the area it is acceptable to bird,
where it is not, where you need to ask permission and whom you need to ask,
etc.?
