On January 31 I made my sixth trip to the Black Dirt region to look for the
Ferruginous Hawk discovered two weeks ago.
I'm batting .500, succeeding three times to see the bird, once at a large
distance only, once pretty close, and once very close.

Manhattan, N.Y. City - Sunday, Jan. 31st -
The Greater White-fronted Goose [form: flavirostris], first found back on
December 20th at Randall’s Island, and more-recently favoring Central Park,
almost always among many Canada Geese, had a slightly alternative site in
Central for Sunday, putting

One Common Murre flew in and landed in the Jones Beach Inlet a few minutes
ago. There are also 4 Razorbills in the inlet. Viewing from Point Look
side.

20+ Red Crossbills with a few nuthatches. Also juvenile Bald Eagle overhead.
