Hi,
I'm spending the night on Long Island and was hoping to locate some goatsuckers
tonight. Can anyone recommend a location? I recall reading posts about their
presence in Suffolk county. Any help and or directions would be great!
Thank you

A walk around play lands Edith reed sanctuary In Rye I found 2 lark sparrows.
The birds are feeding on the main road n in the grass parking lot across from
the lake. I did not attempt to photograph them.

Have a northern bobwhite singing here in ward pound ridge reservation. From
what I experience this bird is not all too common anymore in these parts, yes?
Anyhow it's singing all morning in the large meadow.

On the matter of the painted bunting why doesn't everyone just stop feeding
birds at bird feeders. Let's assume an oriole or some other bird that belongs
in warmer places arrives then we should definitely stop feeding birds.
