While looking for the Dickcissel in Inwood Hill park yesterday (no luck with
the Dickcissel) I spotted a Black-throated Green Warbler on Dyckman Street
just before the overpass at the southern end of the park.
Here's a photo:
The Barnacle Goose was feeding with a large flock of Canada Geese at the
southern end of the Parade Grounds by the Nature Center this afternoon.

The Barnacle Goose was on the Parade Grounds at Van Cortlandt Park, near the
Nature Center, where I've seen the bird a number of times at 12:30 this
afternoon.
I hope the birders from Ohio will take in a show too!! That's a long way to
drive for a bird

Returning home after looking at and photographing the Red-headed Woodpeckers in
Pelham Bay Park I nearly ran over a pair of Eurasian-collared Doves in the
parking lot at 29 Abeel Street, Yonkers, NY. Here's photos of the Woodpeckers
and Doves:

Dear Gerry,
Took a quick look at your photos. No debate about the woodpecker - what a
striking
Angus,
I found a better photo from yesterday and uploaded it after cropping the other
bird out of it:

This one shows the undertail coverts more clearly. Also, the light was very
bright and I toned it
The leucistic Canvasback and White-winged Scoter reported by Joe DiCostanzo
were still at Inwood Hill Park this afternoon (1:30 - 2:30),
Here's a link to some photos (the light was dull and the birds were at a
distance):

There were two Snow Geese on the Parade Grounds at Van Cortlandt Park this

The GWFG was on the lake at Van Cortlandt Park at about 12:30 this afternoon.
Later the bird was grazing on the 14th hole of the golf course and not paying
the golfers any mind. Also had two Snowy Geese with the flock of Canada Geese
on the golf course and three pairs of Hooded Merganzers.
