Yes, it has been a really bad month. His wife was Linda Vardy. They were
married in his yard in Glen Cove area and many of us in attendance wore our
bins!

has been a Blue Grosbeak, and 4 Ravens flew by to the southwest.

Eric Miller & I had 8 or more Black-bellied Whistling Ducks today at the
pond at the exit ramp to the Meadowbrook from Bay Pkwy at Jones Beach, the
continuing spot. They were only visible when in the air moving from one spot
to another, otherwise they were hidden behind the vegetation.

Our count was held on Sunday the 19th, and the final tally is 112 species,
which is very good for our count. The most unusual sightings we had were
Northern Waterthrush in Kissena Park, Common Raven (suddenly not so unexpected
in the NYC area anymore), and Semipalmated Plover.
