[nysbirds-l] Common Nighthawks & Baird's Sandpiper at Heckscher State Park (Suffolk Co.)

We visited HSP this evening in hopes of seeing migrating nighthawks. As we drove the oval we briefly stopped in Field 7, which still has standing water from the latest rainfall. The only shorebird present was a Baird's Sandpiper that was frightened away by someone operating a remote-controlled
