[nysbirds-l] Eared Grebe Oak Beach

2017-03-30 Thread Peter Reisfeld
Third time was a charm. This morning around 10 AM the eared grebe finally
graciously cooperated by appearing relatively close to shore, and then by
joining with his horned cousin for prolonged looks. Seen far west of the
entrance approaching the Sore Thumb peninsula. Here’s a link to a video. (It
was windy so you may want to turn down the volume.):

Happy spring birding,

[nysbirds-l] Eared Grebe, Oak Beach - Yes

2017-03-21 Thread Michael Zito
Eared Grebe was seen by Gary S. and myself. It was hanging out with a horned
grebe giving good views through the scope.

2016-02-27 Thread Pete Morris
Late morning there was an Eared Grebe close to the smaller parking lot (west of
the main lot) at Oak Beach in Suffolk County. Unfortunately, the bird

All the best,
