group of 18 on the jetty south of Hook Pond.

There were 2 PUSA at the jetty at Cedar Beach in Mt Sinai this AM at @ 9:30.
But they were on the east (sand) side of the jetty

Six Purple Sandpipers were seen on the rocks off Rye Beach in Westchester
County this am during Saw Mill River Audubon field trip.
Quite good fly-by views of four White-winged Scoters off the bamboo'd
shoreline of Edith Read.
FOS views of Common Goldeneye (in LI Sound just off Playland Beach) &
Six Purple Sandpipers were seen on the rocks off Rye Beach in Westchester

Having somehow managed to fail at all my previous attempts to find Purple
Sandpipers this winter (twice around Montauk and once each at Point Lookout and
Jones Beach west end), I gave it one last go after consulting eBird data which
showed that the most recent sightings had been along the ocean

that has been reported a number of times from Iron Pier Town Beach, Jamesport,
by Paul Gillen. I found Steve Walter there, who had seen the bird before I
arrived, and also reported seeing Purple Sandpipers at
