With considerable chagrin, I have to say that my reported Buff-breasted Sandpiper may have been the Baird's that Eileen Schwinn and Mike Higgiston reported from the same place. My bird was very distant, through thermal distortion, and I based my ID more on its foraging behavior than on morphology.
