As of 11:20am the lovely Wheatear remains in the close vicinity of Deep Hollow
Ranch. It has been seen both in the high pasture to the northwest of the barn
and, more typically, in the low pastures just north of the barn where it was
initially discovered.

Just observed an adult male Mag Frigatebird from the Point. It was attracted to
a feeding flock of gulls and gannets well off the Point; then slowly headed
west along the north side of the Point. The right side of its tail is damaged.

Happy to report, I observed the Virginias at 9:30am. I first found it at the
base of the south facing slope towards 76th Ave. in the area known as Nutmeg
Meadow. The bird worked it was up the slope parallel to the trail (trail starts
at metal posts), went into the kettle, but then went back
I searched for the birds late this afternoon in both pastures, Montauk Airport,
and Rita's Horse Farm. No luck.
If people are out here searching tomorrow, it may be worth searching all of the
fields between East Hampton and Mecox Bay south of Rte 27.

The previously reported Pacific Loon continues in the bay off the shore of East
Moriches. Late this afternoon we, Tom Moran and I, observed the bird actively
feeding along the bay's north shore. Best viewing was from the end of
Evergreen Ave, but if we could have teleported to the end of
I observed a pair of Barrow's Goldeneye at the southern end of Lake Montauk.
They were with a flock of American Goldeneye. They are visible from the end of
South Lake Drive off of Rte 27. Additionally, I saw the immature Black-headed
Gull that has frequented Lake Montauk for the last few weeks

The previously reported Western Grebe remains in the ocean directly south of
Kirk Park in the village of Montauk. The bird is currently drifting east about
300 ft off the beach.

The bird has moved well east of its original location. It is now among a flock
of Horned Gs off of the beach access at the intersection of South Emerson
Avenue and South Essex Street in Montauk.

The adult Brown Booby continues. I observed it at 6:22pm perched with several
DC Cormorants on the yellow data collection float located west of the bridge on
Reservoir Road. Earlier observers saw it here and feeding near the rocky shoal
well east of the bridge.

Buff-breasted and a single Baird’s among Semipalmated Plovers, though earlier
