The wiki pages for the Top 10 locations (singles and grouped) have been

Check out Putnam County which now has pages for all locations. The color
coding on the alphabetical listing of counties is violet for Putnam to show
that *all shared locations* have 'static' pages including the Top 10. The
counties highlighted with the duller purple color, called 'Fog', have *Top
10 pages only*.

*JEFFERSON COUNTY*

There's a tie for 10th in Jefferson County. Both 'Black Pond WMA' and

[nysbirds-l] Top 10 Locations Reviewed (NYS eBird Hotspots)

2017-01-14 Thread Ben Cacace
For the wiki pages the Top 10 locations (single and grouped sub-locations)
have been reviewed for Monroe County. The locations promoted to top 10 are
highlighted green. The sites that were moved out of the Top 10 still have
pages dedicated to them but they're static meaning they don't need
maintenance except for informational links added to the bottom section of
the page.

I broke up the wikipage called 'Braddock Bay Complex' since it was
potentially hiding too many good birding locations.

[nysbirds-l] Top 10 Locations Reviewed (NYS eBird Hotspots)

2017-01-14 Thread Ben Cacace
For the wiki pages the Top 10 locations (single and grouped sub-locations)
have been reviewed for Monroe County. The locations promoted to top 10 are
highlighted green. The sites that were moved out of the Top 10 still have
pages dedicated to them but they're static meaning they don't need
maintenance except for informational links added to the bottom section of
the page.

[nysbirds-l] Top 10 Locations Reviewed (NYS eBird Hotspots)

2016-10-01 Thread Ben Cacace
The top 10 locations have been reviewed for the top 15 counties. The
locations highlighted in green have been moved to the Top 10. The sites in
yellow were replaced but still have pages dedicated to them. These pages do
not need to be updated on a monthly basis making it possible to expand the
site to many more locations. There are no changes to the top 10 for the
following counties: Cayuga, Erie, Kings, Oswego, Tompkins, Westchester and
New York Counties.

One of the main differences on the top 10 pages are the 'Notable Finds'
showing the top 20 species seen at that location. When you click on the
name of the bird a map displays with the location centered. Checklists
including that species can be viewed by clicking on the icons. Red icons
are for sightings of the species within the past 30 days.
