[obc] TT handicapping

2001-09-14 Thread Michael Coldwell
Celia's ideas I think are well founded. As I see this as basic mathematics, some research of handicapping times I think is quite reasonable, and especially to be presented as improved handicap allowances for OBC review. Shifts up down the list shouldn't worry anyone, but a researched and

[obc] Why is Large Chain Ring sometimes easier?

2001-10-04 Thread Michael Coldwell
Rod, There is some of a sound explanation for this! It turns out that in addition to the calculation of appropriate ratios to maintain a certain cadence, there is also prefered rings and cogs for efficiency of power transfer. The larger rings and cogs are more efficient - and the explanation

[obc] AGM

2001-10-24 Thread Michael Coldwell
I have no concern with any person expressing their support for any candidate. However, Kevin's comments went further than that. He implicated Manny as being associated with others that wish to take over the group, and do away with long established events. The president does not have a veto.

[obc] legal wheels

2002-04-15 Thread Michael Coldwell
Bob, I don't know if this is obvious or not, but for the Grand Prix **Novice** category race, would the legal wheels still be required? I'm thinking that this applies to only the races where the participants are participating in a licenced race (that is, where they require the racing licence).

[obc] TT results on OBC website

2002-05-14 Thread Michael Coldwell
This season's new look OBC website I think has been generally a change for the positive. There might be a couple of bugs to iron out, but it all can't happen in an instant (Rome wasn't built in a day, so I've heard). I have noticed however, a step back in the value-added detail, user-friendly,

[obc] champlain bridge bike lanes

2002-08-14 Thread Michael Coldwell
I much rather the bike lanes. I have now riden the lanes a few times, and no gravel has accumulated, and how it would magically appear is beyond me - there are no gravel entries to the bridge - so a dump truck would have to do some dirty work. The lack of bike lanes will not somehow teach

Avery, And, I had also replied to your reply to Erika, yet you have chosen to ignore and continue to present a one-sided view with your re-paste below. Your clearing of the air instead has put up smoke. You have yet to state what you think is wrong with Celia's TT data. Merely stating errors

[obc] Link Vote

2002-09-26 Thread Michael Coldwell
Mr. McKenna, At last week's Open TT, we were told that a vote had been taken at the last board meeting regarding the provision of a link connection from OBC Website to Celia's TT website. I understand the vote was 8 - 2 against. Might you please provide the arguments and discussions that were
