Scott,
I guess I can't calculate the actuall clearance since I don't know the
thickness of the bearings themselves! Oh well...I'm sure someone here
knows.
First, that's *not* the way it's done. The dry bearings are placed in the
mains, the the dry crank is gently laid in the bearings, a 1/

Bolts to the main cap bolts and fits between the oil pan and the rest of the
crankcase above it. It keeps the wind (windage, get it) created by the
spinning crank and rods from whipping the oil and foaming it at higher RPMs.
It also greatly cuts down on oil splash

Hello Scott
I have a crank scraper on my 12 second Puick430 in the 72 Olds.
It is very simple to make and just bolts on the oil pan rail.
This cuts the strands of oil off the crank helping it turn and returns
oil to the pan quicker.
We are race ready eh.

Hello all-
I wanted to see a windage tray so I could get a better visual of how it
worked. I went to Mondello's website and saw a rectangularish box thing.
Eh? How does this keep oil off the crank? I went to Summit's webiste and
saw something that was actually in an arc...makes more sense.
I wanted to add that Hagerty - along others - will ask that EVERY driver in
the household has one non classic car as a daily driver. My family never
made this requirement, because most our cars, including daily drivers, are
old enough to be considered classics.

You don't really need a schematic. The older radios don't
have very many of these, and they are easy to spot. Just
replace them all. Bruce Roe
