I'm not sure I'd want high-pressure water grinding dirt into the paint. On top

GM issued a bulletin stating that etching of glass,
paint or trim caused by some detergents used in
automatic car washes would NOT be covered under

glassware washed in a dishwasher with soft water, and
apparently has turned up on cars washed
Taking your car to the car wash is like taking your girlfriend to the sperm
bank. The end result may be the same but you'll miss all the fun!

I would never take my baby through a car wash...she is worth much more than

My 1979 Calais has built up quite a bit of dust on it from sitting in the
garage, and I'd like to clean it up since the weather's getting so nice.
You might as well sprinkle some sand on it before you go just to make sure
it scratches your car all over instead of just a few places.
I've never had an automatic car wash scratch a paint surface on any car. The
liability insurance for the car wash company wouldn't stand for it.
