I'm not sure Milton has a problem with SP itself, so much as he doesn't
want to pay a premium for a SP unit (of course I'm NOT speaking for
Milton here) Any regular TH400 can be made into a SP unit for about $300

If it is a fake (99% chance) its still a decent

The th400 in my 67 has a switch pitch, and its behavior is new to me, so
much that, the one time I drove the car, I could not tell if the
transmission was behaving properly or not.
Could I lure you fine people into a discussion of when a switch pitch
works, what it does, and how that 'feels'

I think in a stock car it was tripped by a switch on
the accelerator linkage at WOT. That caused the TC to
switch to high stall which effectively reduces the
gear ratio between the motor and trans. So in the
stock car its simply a passing gear or under-drive.

I wonder if that is what caused the O2 sensors at the rack to burn out?
I had heard of a few racers buring out the 4 wire models so i bought the 3

Would the film cause it to short out?

That filter change was actually a 67.5 change, I have read, and mine
does have the newer style, cheaper, and easier to find filter.
