Actually the Dell H330 only has one hybrid mode firmware which can be switched
between raid and HBA modes. All the distributions include Solaris and linux

The driver is related to the firmware.
I suppose you are on an IR/Raid firmware. The better one would be a
raidless and often faster IT firmware (mpt_sas). But I cannot say if its
available from Dell or if the one from LSI is working.
