You want to look at using Get, Set, and the List modules. Look for

i am trying to find out what formats can i save the dat file formats in.
i would also like to know how can i view whats inside a cuboid . i am
using a .dat file for viewing it . i am also unable to interpret the
data .any help would be appreciated.

I'm a fairly new user, I will have to read up on using macros so that I
can integrate this into my program.
