Looks like modification of the /etc/pam.conf file on Solaris might be
incorrect.
Putting sshd in debug mode, I get a dlopen failed when trying to login.
Looks like this is because the sshd entries all need to be of the form
/usr/lib/security/$ISA/
Rather than
/usr/lib/security/...
During the installation of openssh just /etc/pam.conf is updated.
But on some system an update of /etc/pam.d/ is required.
This is now fixed in -CURRENT with the new pam package.

Yes, the problem is that rsync from time to time segfaults under
FreeBSD. I'm still searching for the problem. The server
