I've been looking at myodbc and unixodbc, primarily because OpenOffice
seems to be able to talk only to odbc or jdbc easily. I'm hardly an expert
on odbc since I don't ``Do Windows'' so I'm climbing the learning curve. It
seems to me that linking into odbc using OpenOffice on Linux requires
building unixodbc and myodbc with shared libraries. Am I wrong on this or
is there some way programs like OpenOffice can use the static libraries?
