I installed via the network ( who doesn't these days ? ) and upon first boot I saw the machine hang. I never got to the login prompt or very far at all actually. Re: [osol-discuss] Flashplayer 9 Gone from Adobe Site
Solaris version of flashplayer 9 plugin seems to have disappeared from the Adobe d/l site: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9.html Anyone knows anything about this? Thanks. Near as I can tell Adobe seems to be in a state of war with Solaris users. If I goto http://www.shockwave.com/home.jsp with my browser [ Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS i86pc; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070531 SeaMonkey/1.1.2 ] then I get the usual bunch of alerts and popups that all tell me I need to download a plugin. I note that I can click on some download now button on the site and I am presented with a box that says : Adobe Flash Player Download Center Solaris x86 + a big dumb button that says download now If I click on that button I get the following Sparc software : http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_7_solaris_sparc.tar.gz Its almost as if someone somewhere just wants Solaris x86 to curl up and die already. Thank you. Be damned if I understand what the issues are. I think the issue is Adobe. Dennis ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org

The better solution is to run ntp on the host and configure the guest tools to keep time in sync with the host. Unfortunately guest tools aren't available for Solaris - but that should be getting fixed soon. Is there any VMware-tools for Solaris package which works with Solaris 11/B61 ? Ah this does sound encouraging. Though it's still confusing why the download page says Solarisx86 and points to a Sparc version. It did at one time point to x86 versions.
