The release of OpenSSL 0.9.6a beta3 and the true release have been
delayed. The reason for the delay is mainly due to the following
paper and the need to add a fix for the problem it describes:

The problem is now fixed in the current source
The OpenSSL 0.9.7 release cycle has started.
Be at ease, we're still a bit away from making betas, there are a
couple of rather serious bugs to fix. However, this means that a few
changes have been made:
1) In the CVS repository, there's now a branch tagged with the name
OpenSSL_0_9_7-stable
