Read the documentation on how to compile a program with debugging support.

Hello,
I have implanted a client/server based application, which uses OpenSSL for
both the client(win32) and the server(linux, openBSD). I would like to know
if I can use compression in this program, and if so is there any
documentation.
Thank you in advance.

Great, maybe you want to include that patched Makefile I posted to the list, along
with the fixed up spec?
