I'm trying to python 2.6.2 as part of the Sage mathematics software http://www.sagemath.org/ on a Sun Ultra 27 (quad core 3.33 GHz 64-bit Xeon processor). Sage defaults to a 32-bit build, so all its libraries are 32-bit. Python's hashlib module is failing to build, due to a 32/64 bit clash
