Configuration- Mail Client: Outlook 2000 on NT 4.0, using verisign email cert OpenSSL: 0.9.6b on Mandrake 8.1
Problem: Trying to send and encrypted email from the mandrake system to the outlook client using command line: openssl smime -encrypt -in test.txt -from [EMAIL PROTECTED] -to [EMAIL PROTECTED] -subject "Test" -des user.pem | sendmail [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] receives the email, it's encrypted (at least the outlook icon indicates that, and it shows DES was used), the message is opened but there is no message text/content. The file test.txt is a one line file that has "This is a test". Question: Is there a known issue of sending encrypted messages from openssl to an outlook client? Is there a workaround? If not, is there another opensource way to send an encrypted message to an outlook client? Thanks ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
