Well, at work I have several Phenoms running Fedora 7, 64-bit as
servers. No problems.

best can be done here is using someone else's (Windows)
backward-compatibility and emulate that on Linux OS.

compiling Qemu requires GCC 3.x, however openSUSE has only GCC 4.x,
which doesn't allows me to compile Qemu.
On Fedora 7 there is a gcc-34-compat package that enables me to use
GCC 3 alongside GCC 4.

It's all about features you need.
For example I need my email client to save emails in HTML format.
Evolution does not supports this, so I stick with Thunderbird.
