bigtex:oraadm 7% rman target / as sysdba
Argument Value Description
-
target quoted-string connect-string for target database
catalog quoted-string connect-string for recovery catalog
nocatalog
You do not need as sysdba when connecting in RMAN:
d:\oraclerman target /
Recovery Manager: Release 9.2.0.3.0 - Production
Copyright (c) 1995, 2002, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
connected to target database: T03B (DBID=2558667088)
RMAN shutdown
using target database controlfile
You always connect as a sysdba privileged user when using RMAN ... so just
issue
rman target /
(or rman target / nocatalog if you're not using a catalog)
(Wow! I answered an RMAN question ... and I knew nothing about it 12 months

That is awsome, isn't it!! Congrats!
BTW, if you are using 9i and RMAN there is no need for the nocatalog
command.
