Re: [Origami] Tesseract

I had folded a 4-D origami tesseract. But then I unfolded it into a 3D
tesseract that has 8 cubes. And now, I cannot remember how to refold it back
to a 4D tesseract. :) You can see my unfolded origami tesseract at:

Dear Vishakha,

Re I was wondering if anyone had designed an origami Tesseract...

Re In 4 esquinasmagazine number 1 there is a modular hypercube by
Mateo Diaz and Nicolas Gajardo

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you, Vishakha, for posing the initial question, and thank you,
Roman, for the link to the modular hypercube, which I just finished
folding (made the units while enjoying the sunshine outside). I will
send you two a photo of one I made. I used regular kami and had to
clip the units in place until I finished. Will try stiffer paper next
time.

I am very grateful to you, because 2014 is the centennial of AMTNJ
(Association of Mathematics Teachers of NJ), and its logo is the
hypercube (www.amtnj.org). If I can obtain permission from Mssrs. Diaz
and Gajardo, I would like to propose that we use the origami hypercube
as the centerpiece for the banquet tables on May 17.

Roman, might it be possible for you to forward my request to the creators?

Thanks again, you two!

Best regards,

Patsy

[Origami] who's this lamp shade creator?

2014-02-23 Thread Laura
Yesterday I saw this lamp shade at the Watermill Center, NY (it's an art center
located in Water Mill, NY)

Has anyone seen it before or know anything about its story or who's the
creator?

Hi all,
That lampshade and other really nice ones are from Le Klint. One can find some
videos of how they make a few of their lampshades online with a little digging.
