Josep Albers was one of the founders of the Bauhaus school in Germany, and he taught there an introductory course where he encouraged students to experiment with paper. Several pictures in books and on the internet show corrugations and paraboloids. Although he never used the word “origami”, some of their executions resemble objects as origami artists know today. The workshop following Albers’ guidelines will take place at the at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, June 22nd.
