I've a house-wide 1wire network like this:
- everything is from hobby-boards
- 6 port hub
- connected 8-relay board
- connected temperature sensors
Question 1:
- hub and relay-board all powered actively
- all jumpers are on their default location
- hub is hot (7805 stabilizer ic is hot)

Stabilizer gets warm it's normal.
It also probably has an overheating protection It will shut down when it
heats up too much.

I had used a similar one that I found in the weather toys book. That ones
