booting, from then on Windows dies at the blue screen with STOP code
0x007B. Lord knows how these two things are related, or if it's just a
coincidence, but in any case I was searching for way of coaxing Windows into

STOP 0x7B = INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
Look at the next set of parameters, it might tell you what it what it's looking
for. However BIOS settings and fan speeds are unlikely to be the issue.
What OS are you using? You can do a startup repair in Windows 7 or a Repair
install in XP. I can't
